You are invited to DNA’s Annual Co-ed Martini Mixer!!! Come and join us for fantastic drinks, appetizers and conversation at the Keefer Bar in Chinatown. This is an open, co-ed event and members are welcome to invite others. We would love to meet your partners, significant others and friends.
The cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door for DNA members and $25 in advance or $30 at the door for non-members.

The Keefer Bar is located at 133 Keefer Street, near the intersection of Columbia Street. Look for the outdoor patio and fireplace. The entrance is located to the right of the flame. Parking is available in the lot beside the Keefer Bar or in the parkade across the street.

The Professional Women’s Network and the Royal Bank of Canada collaborate to bring you a panel of financial experts who will discuss different ways of financing your business at different stages of your business and who will provide tips on obtaining the financing you need to help you grow your business. Panelists are:
Vanessa Noga, Senior Account Manager, Royal Bank who will discuss traditional bank financing options and options offered by Royal Bank to support SMEs; Cassandra Consiglio, President, Pyx Financial Group, who will discuss factoring as a way of financing aspects of your business; and Kath Britton, Business Advisor, Women’s Enterprise Centre, who will discuss how small women owned businesses can receive funds for startup and growth through the Women’s Enterprise Centre. Rosanne Horner, Manager, Major Accounts for the Business Development Bank of Canada, and works with a diverse group of business owners and professional advisors assisting clients with high leverage loans for equipment, real estate and working capital.

Moira Stilwell on Politics, Power and her Passion for Leadership
Presentation Description:
Join the PWN for a unique opportunity to hear about leadership in politics. Moira Stilwell left her position as head of Nuclear Medicine with the Fraser Health Authority to make an even bigger difference. In 2009 she ran for, and won, a seat in the B.C. Legislature representing Vancouver-Langara. Late in 2010, just 18 months after being elected, she set her sights on the Office of the Premier. Join us for a special PWN event to hear from Moira about her experiences and views about politics and power, and about her personal passion for leadership.
About Moria:
As a physician for more than 30 years, a working mother, a community leader, and an MLA and Cabinet Minister, Moira Stilwell has the skills and experience to know what it takes to lead and motivate teams. Before being elected MLA for Vancouver-Langara in 2009, Moira served as head of Nuclear Medicine at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, Surrey Memorial Hospital, and at Abbottsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Clinic. She is a past Chair of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation/BC Yukon Chapter, and was a member of the board of the Canadian Breast Cancer Research Alliance. In government, Moira served as Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development, and later as Minister of Regional Economic and Skills Development. She resigned her Cabinet post in November 2010 to stand for election as leader of the BC Liberal Party.

Join DNA for our annual DNA Snowshoeing Event in North Vancouver!
So off we go to the mountains for some winter fun – an evening showshoeing tour in the mountains with a guide AND chocolate fondue! What more could one ask for?

Tuesday, Feb 8th, 2011, 6pm
Location: either Hollyburn or Mt Seymour, depending on the snow conditions.
Includes: headlamps, snowshoes and hiking poles.
Since we’re doing a guided tour, there are a limited 10 spaces….so….start thinking about this ladies and planning ahead, or sign up now if you’re uber keen like me!
Anyone can snowshoe so there should be no excuses. Just make sure you wear something warm for your feet, hands and head and we’re good to go.
